The Norwegian Students’ and Academics’ International Assistance Fund who created the video are hoping to raise funds toward solutions – rather than exploiting the usual stereotypes.
Their idea:
-Fundraising should not be based on exploiting stereotypes.
-There needs to be better information about what is going on in the world, in schools, in TV and media. People need to know about positive developments in Africa and developing countries, not only about crises, poverty and AIDS.
-Media needs to show respect.
-Aid must be based on real needs, not “good” intentions.
